"What Did You Just Call Me??"

The year may be young, but I've already been mistaken for a grip three times, and an intern once.

I've been called worse things before, but I hope everyone's new year is starting off better than mine!

If we wear a tool belt and gloves, most people on set make the assumption that we're grips -- it seems to be the default setting. I've had camera operators on my current show as me for an apple box... and this after nearly five years and a hundred episodes of working together.

But to be fair, I still conflate props and set dressing every now and then, even though I know damned well who does what. Nobody's perfect.

That said, being called an "intern" at this point in your career is baffling. I can only hope that came from an exceptionally green and uninformed person on set...

I've been once mistaken for an extra - and I had my tool belt quite visibly on my shoulder when I arrived onto a new set and they even brought costumes around to check if I needed anything to wear..!

And yeah, I've been mistaken for a lighting trainee or work experience quite a few times.. It doesn't help that I'm short, female and look about 10 years younger than I am.

Micheal and Jenerator - I've actually been mistaken for in intern a few times last year. And don't even get me started on how many times I've been mistaken for background...
